Changes to this Commentary
James Rice has updated the commentary to include:
  • the addition of thousands of pages content (now over 25 megabytes of text!)
  • removal of HTML tags and other corrupted text
  • retention of outline formatting but without the extreme indenting
  • better color formatting
  • consistency of paragraph formatting.
  • Added Psalm 24 (April 11, 2012)
  • Added Psalm 25-31, Psalm 53 (March 19, 2014)
This is a modern, dispensational commentary based on the King James text, although other translations can be used. Every book of the Bible now has a comment. James added thousands of pages of new content. This is now one of the best commentaries, if not the best commentary, available for e-Sword (in our opinions).

About David Guzik
David Guzik is the pastor of Calvary Chapel Santa Barbara, having come to serve that congregation in July 2010.

For 7 years before that, David was the director of Calvary Chapel Bible College Germany, near Siegen, Germany. David took this position in January of 2003, after serving for 14 years as the founding and Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel of Simi Valley. He has been in pastoral ministry since 1982. David has no formal Bible College or seminary training, but does have a Bachelors of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

David, his wife Inga-Lill, live in Santa Barbara, California. Their three children are grown; Aan-Sofie serves as a missionary in Ireland, Nathan lives in Los Angeles, and Jonathan lives in Santa Barbara.

David has many interests, but one passion among them is to know God’s Word and to make it known to others. Each week many thousands of users all over the globe - mostly pastors and teachers - use David Guzik's Bible commentary on-line, on cd-rom, and in print.

does this download for e-sword?? I only see a .cmtx file, and I have no way to open it.  I believe I need a .topx file for e-sword.  I'd really love to have this updated version!

tremendous to see this commentary available.

I downloaded this but cannot get it to appear in e-sword. I downloaded it with e-sword open any suggestions?

I am trying to find out why I cannot get the Guzik  Commentary to download to my E-sword. It goes into my Download file, but I cannot get it to download on to my E-sword. I haven't had any problems with any of the other modules that I downloaded. Thanks!

I downloaded and converted this commentary for my esword, it was all good but then I find that starting from Mark 12 the letter style is not changed although I have change the display setting. Any suggestion? Thank you.

Last week I received this email update from Enduring Word:

"Thanks for your interest in the work of Enduring Word. If you're new to our list, I send out an email every month or two asking for prayer and giving updates regarding the work of Enduring Word.First and most importantly, thank you for praying! My last email to you asked for prayer because I was stuck in my work on writing new commentary for the website. After being stuck on Psalm 101 for several months, in the last two weeks things just broke open and I've miraculously had the time, focus, and energy to get back to the work. Psalm 102 through Psalm 108 are now online and work continues. I know this is a tremendous answer to prayer--please keep praying for continued time, energy and focus."

So it looks like another update of this module may be coming soon? Thanks to those who have provided it!

I'm having trouble at times too, until I found out my virus program was blocking them.

And after catching it several times I just shut it down while loading the problem modules.

It worked like a charm.

First, thank you so much for the file. I am just beginning to read it in use. However, the indenting is rather extreme? Is it something I have done?

Thank you for your time and response in advance!

Hi gbcpastor, Instead of trying to get it to download to another folder, try this. Just let it download. Then highlight the file, don't double click it, just select it, then do a Control-C or Control-x if you want to move the file. Then open File Explorer and go to C:\Program Files (x86)\e-Sword

Then just do a Control-C and it will either copy or move it depending on if you did a Control-C or X.

Then make sure you shutdown e-Sword and start it again.

You should be all set then.

Let me know if you have any issues.

jayodcth....You're not doing anything wrong at all. David Guzik wrote his Commentary in an "Outline" Form....Thus the "Indentation".....I must admit it is a bit different but you'll come to enjoy it.....Because his Commentary on the Bible is just that good ! By the way I also have Mr. Guzik's Commentary on

my Kindle and it has the same extreme indentation.
