HAYDOCK CATHOLIC BIBLE COMMENTARY

This Catholic commentary on the New Testament, following the Douay-Rheims Bible text, was originally compiled by Catholic priest and biblical scholar Rev. George Leo Haydock (1774-1849). This transcription is based on Haydock's notes as they appear in the 1859 edition of Haydock's Catholic Family Bible and Commentary printed by Edward Dunigan and Brother, New York, New York.  For a detailed description of the changes made to the form and content of the original commentary text for this transcription see the "Transcriber's Notes" webpage at: http://haydock1859.tripod.com.

Hi Michael,
I have no problem with your using my transcription of the Haydock Bible commentary in the manner you mention in your email. However, I hope you understand that my transcription is still a work in progress. At the present time, all I have to offer is a raw transcription which I know, from what little proofreading that I have done so far, contains a fairly large number of errors and omissions. It will take some time, probably years, for me to proofread the whole thing through at least once and correct most of the errors.

Best wishes in Christ,
Todd Easton

footnotes from Church Doctors, Fathers etc. Right there one can read what St. Augustine wrote on a certain passage, or what St. Thomas Aquinas taught on various verses. It is absolutely edifiying to learn what the Church always taught on passages.

I could not find Apocrypha in this package. Or am i missing something? I am using Simple Bible Reader 5.4.3.

Please help.
