#43746 Is there a way to import my old Wordsearch books

Have you tried using e-Sword's integrated STEP reader - which is available under the "tools" menu?

#43832 e-Sword ToolTip Tool NT

Posted by DoctorDaveT on 28 December 2022 - 02:53 PM in Module Creation Tools

QUESTION: which version is the least glitchy? I've purchased a new laptop, and will be doing a fresh load of the software. Any suggestions as to which version will be least problematic?

Hey, Tj,

OK - i are dum.

I went looking for the Sep and Oct 2019 versions, and couldn't find those either. Again - I only found the most recent release. So sorry to be so obtuse - but where are the older versions located?

Hey, Joem,

I have a few available at my website. On each of the following pages, scroll down to "Introductions & Surveys" - click the "eS" link for the eSword download.

Here is the page for books on both testaments - https://doctordavet...._reference.html

Here is the page for books on the OT books - https://doctordavet....ot_modules.html

Here is the page for books on the NT books - https://doctordavet....nt_modules.html

Once properly installed, these eS reference books can be viewed in your Reference Library (top right icon on your eSword tool bar).

A quick note to all my friends here at BibSup:

my website may be down for a day or two due to maintenance; I'm changing servers. This is the second time in a decade I've had to do this, and it is not an enjoyable use of anyone's time. However, it is what it is. I'll post back here when the site is back up and running well.

Also note: my email is also down until the site is back up. If anyone needs to reach me, please do so through the messaging system here at BibSup.

Long day or two. Turned into a week. However - site is back up and running. I have a new web hosting company, and am hoping it will provide "stabler" service than what I've had recently.

I even hope to have a new module posted in a day or two.... :-)

#44031 How or who to make new modules

Hi, Don,

what is the copyright status of the materials you have access to?

#44052 Book Introduction Summary Overview

Posted by DoctorDaveT on 15 February 2023 - 07:08 AM in e-Sword Tools & Utilities

In the commentary window, the "B" button is for book view comments, the "C" button is for chapter view comments, and the "V" button is for verse view comments. Not all commentaries have "book level comments," but the ones that do, you'll find there. Sometimes the book introductions are added into the "verse level comments" at 1:1. You'll have to experiment with each commentary. Some commentaries for e-Sword don't include any book level and/or chapter level comments.

you can find a lot of other stuff, too, if you'll stop by and give us a look....

#44137 DDT Review of Wuest's "Word Studies from the Greek NT"

Posted by DoctorDaveT on 02 March 2023 - 01:28 PM in e-Sword Modules / Resources

I have recently written a comprehensive product review of what many will remember as the 4 Volume work "Word Studies from the Greek New Testament," which included Wuest's "The New Testament: An Expanded Translation." That comprehensive product review is available to be read here.

Please note that the Wuest volumes reviewed are available as premium resources through the e-Sword platform. It should be noted, however, that e-Sword has divided these volumes up into two separate premium resources. Wuest's various commentaries on the NT (incomplete, by the way) and his topical material are all available as one premium resource; and Wuest's "An Expanded Translation" is available as a separate premium resource.

This review is for the content of 4 Volume Wuest set. In other words: the contents of two separate e-Sword premium modules. Stop by and take a look.

#44205 6,600 Puritan & Non-Conformist Resources for Module Creation.

Posted by DoctorDaveT on 20 March 2023 - 07:21 AM in e-Sword Modules / Resources

Hey, David,

I took a look at your website; all I saw was the availability to download everything at one time. If you had the capability to download by individual title, it might encourage some module builders to step up and give it a try (one title at a time). One mega-download is rather intimidating.

#44562 Best Atlas/ Maps

Posted by DoctorDaveT on 13 June 2023 - 05:29 AM in e-Sword Tools & Utilities

This one is probably the most comprehensive - http://www.biblesupp...ble-atlas-maps/

It is formatted for the Windows version of eSword. It has 100+ maps. I've almost always found what I've been looking for when using it.

Not sure about the "blurry" factor. I do know this: most of the graphics modules are relatively small when compared to what you can find on the internet. On average, the above module's maps are about 150k each (really round number there...). These maps are useful for personal study, but may not be helpful if you are attempting to copy/paste into a powerpoint for large scale viewing.
