#19255 E-Sword loading slow

Posted by wayman29 on 02 November 2013 - 02:18 PM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

Hi all just downloaded to try out the New upgrade to the program and as a long time user (from way..way back..) I unistalled the 9.0 and still use 8 because of the speed issue.  Am I doing somthing wrong?  I do not think I should have to unload everything just to get it to run. Even going from book to book in a biblical text takes a long time in 9.0 and up.  On the 8 it switches much fater.  Just looking for some tips so I can use some of the new features without "deslecting" everything just to get it to run. Looks as if this stie has taken off also!  Well done all!

#19262 E-Sword loading slow

Posted by wayman29 on 03 November 2013 - 09:12 AM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

Greetings,

Jon You had the correct answer.  I unlinked the Dictionary of the NET bible and also the commenary and things clicked through real smooth.  It was rather frustrating because I love e-sword back when we used Access database.  When everything went to SQL I had a hard time geting everything to run.  So I want back to 8.0 as mentioned above.  Thanks for the help.  I did give myself a face palm for not thinking of it myself.

Thanks for your responces.

You are all most kind and thoughtful!

#19263 Dead Sea Scroll Modules

Posted by wayman29 on 03 November 2013 - 09:23 AM in e-Sword Modules / Resources

Greetings all,

I have not been back in some time and I am happy to see this site has taken off!

Nice work on the Hebrew Study Bible with Strong’s numbers.  Everything all together in one .bblx file made it simple and I was able to replace the older files with the updated newer file.

I was wondering if anyone out there was working some Dead Sea Scroll module.  I have not looked in some time to see if anything was in the public domain to do this or not.  With the Scrolls having such a huge influence on the study of biblical literature it would be a huge help if something like this was looked into.  I do know that Bible Works had the Sectarian Scrolls module.  But that would cost some bucks.  I would be willing to pay for a reference to be used in E-sword if it were created.  Anyone know of anything or anyone who has something that would be done in a legal way I would be interested in helping to create such a module if I had the legal resources to do so.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Al Wayman

#19305 Dead Sea Scroll Modules

Greetings patchworkid,
The links I had and the topic file I created from those found online, was not the complete scrolls (cave 1-11).  It was just a sampling more or less.  I have the book by the late Geza Vermes on the Dead Sea scrolls in epub format and also The Dead Sea Scrolls Bible in digital. I was thinking about making a modules for personal use only, but thought by now all the scrolls would be open to the public someplace.

#19482 BBLX to MySword - Just Change ext. to .bbl.mybible and it works in MySword!

Posted by wayman29 on 30 November 2013 - 09:29 PM in MySword

Thanks!  Changing the endings was most helpful and worked excellent!  I do have a slew of mysword files that this did not work for due to formatting issues but I now have all my favoriate translations that I work with on my Nook Tablet.
