Hey, Tj,

OK - i are dum.

I went looking for the Sep and Oct 2019 versions, and couldn't find those either. Again - I only found the most recent release. So sorry to be so obtuse - but where are the older versions located?

QUESTION: which version is the least glitchy? I've purchased a new laptop, and will be doing a fresh load of the software. Any suggestions as to which version will be least problematic?

#44816 BeST 2

Search -

Thanks for the post. Many moons ago I tried to use Ben's eSword Tool; but was never able to get it to work for me. Ben was quite nice (I think he's still here, somewhere, by the way), but for the way I was building modules, it was simply easier to cut and paste right into eSword.

When T2 (eventually becoming T4 - the swiss army knife of eSword module building) was made available, I started using it, and helping Brent do some trouble shooting and Beta testing. It worked like I did; so it was easy for me to use.

My great thanks to Ben for his BeST tool, even though I was never able to utilize it. BeST was a forerunner of what made this site what it is today.

#43746 Is there a way to import my old Wordsearch books

Have you tried using e-Sword's integrated STEP reader - which is available under the "tools" menu?

#45075 Thompson chain reference on E-Sword problem

Posted by DoctorDaveT on 21 September 2023 - 04:18 AM in Just Saying Hi

If you've got it installed, check your dictionaries window. It is not the full Thompson Chain Reference Bible (that would be just a Bible, KJV, etc.), but the Thompson Chain Reference Notes only - and it is formatted as a dictionary. Click on a word, and see the TCR entry. Look for the dictionary tabbed "TCR."

AI? From the 90's?

While the digital versions are (relatively) recent, the hardback/paperback content goes back to the 1990's. An anonymous author simply means he/she didn't want to minimize his/her original possible customer base.

#44205 6,600 Puritan & Non-Conformist Resources for Module Creation.

Posted by DoctorDaveT on 20 March 2023 - 07:21 AM in e-Sword Modules / Resources

Hey, David,

I took a look at your website; all I saw was the availability to download everything at one time. If you had the capability to download by individual title, it might encourage some module builders to step up and give it a try (one title at a time). One mega-download is rather intimidating.

#43913 Backgrounds for each book

Hey, Joem,

I have a few available at my website. On each of the following pages, scroll down to "Introductions & Surveys" - click the "eS" link for the eSword download.

Here is the page for books on both testaments - https://doctordavet...._reference.html

Here is the page for books on the OT books - https://doctordavet....ot_modules.html

Here is the page for books on the NT books - https://doctordavet....nt_modules.html

Once properly installed, these eS reference books can be viewed in your Reference Library (top right icon on your eSword tool bar).

A quick note to all my friends here at BibSup:

my website may be down for a day or two due to maintenance; I'm changing servers. This is the second time in a decade I've had to do this, and it is not an enjoyable use of anyone's time. However, it is what it is. I'll post back here when the site is back up and running well.

Also note: my email is also down until the site is back up. If anyone needs to reach me, please do so through the messaging system here at BibSup.

Long day or two. Turned into a week. However - site is back up and running. I have a new web hosting company, and am hoping it will provide "stabler" service than what I've had recently.

I even hope to have a new module posted in a day or two.... :-)

#44562 Best Atlas/ Maps

Posted by DoctorDaveT on 13 June 2023 - 05:29 AM in e-Sword Tools & Utilities

This one is probably the most comprehensive - http://www.biblesupp...ble-atlas-maps/

It is formatted for the Windows version of eSword. It has 100+ maps. I've almost always found what I've been looking for when using it.

Not sure about the "blurry" factor. I do know this: most of the graphics modules are relatively small when compared to what you can find on the internet. On average, the above module's maps are about 150k each (really round number there...). These maps are useful for personal study, but may not be helpful if you are attempting to copy/paste into a powerpoint for large scale viewing.

#45205 Help Converting Old .top File to .topx

Posted by DoctorDaveT on 09 October 2023 - 01:06 PM in e-Sword Modules / Resources

Help!

I thought eSword would automatically convert an old .top to .topx file; however, my eSword (13.0) is not doing so automatically, nor do I see an option to tell it to do so. I thought Brent's T4 tool would read .top to convert to .topx, but I can't seem to make it do that, either.

I got old and forgot how to do all this stuff! Any help on how to make an archaic .top file work with modern iterations of eSword?
