#38751 How To Send Pictures and Large Data on Bible Support.com

Posted by mossua11 on 09 September 2020 - 11:57 PM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

On Bible Support.com, how do you send pictures or large data files using a MSWord document?  I have sent several posts with pictures on them  a link. But, they do not seem to go to Bible Support.com. Is there a tutorial or something that tells how to do this? Some of my posts have blank spots in them where pictures or data should be. Any thoughts on this?

#38750 Audio Bible for e-Sword

Posted by mossua11 on 09 September 2020 - 02:34 PM in e-Sword Modules / Resources

Thank you very much Sir for your suggestions. I removed  the m3u  files from each one of the 66 bible books  and removed three more that were at the end of the entire file. There were 69 total m3u files removed.

The Audio Module Maker 1.1 was removed from e-Sword and installed again. The Bible data files were put in the program file were the e-Sword resources are located.

The e-Sword Bible Program was restarted and a test was run on Bible Books Genesis,  Ruth, Malachi, Matthew, and Titus. Everything word correctly. The selected chapter was opened and read with the Audio each time.

Attached is a link to the Bible Data files revised as you suggested.

Thank you again for your help.

#38742 Audio Bible for e-Sword

e_Sword_Audio_Bible_Maker_1.1.png E_Sword Audio Bible Download

I downloaded the e-Sword Audio Module Maker 1.1 by Raymond Barone from bible Support.com.

It was installed as per the following instructions.

e-Sword Utility:
DownloadAudio Module Maker 1.1

Author:
Raymond Barone

This program can be used to make a commentary module with links to audio files of the Bible.
Each file should contain the audio of a chapter of the Bible.

Steps:

1- Select (Whole Bible, Old testament, or New Testament)
2- Select one of the following:
a- Files for each book are in a subfolder: If you have one folder containing a number of subfolders, each containing audio files for one book of the Bible.
b- All files are in the same folder: If you have one folder containing all files sorted by name.
3- Enter a Tab name and a description. You can also change the link text that will appear in e-Sword.
4- Select the folder containing the subfolders (a) or all the audio files (b ).
5- The file name for the module will be automatically set to the tab name, and the path to the e-Sword resource folder. You can change this in the "Output Module" text box.
6- Click "Create Module"

Notes:
1- Folders should contain the audio files only.
2- Links in the module will be sorted according to the order of folders and files that appears in Windows Explorer. So make sure this is the order you want ( in both cases, whether the files are in separate folders or in the same folder)
3- Don't use the same Tab name for two modules. Only one will appear then in e-Sword.

The bible data was obtained from www.firefighters.org/bible-kjv.

The result of setting the Audio bible up is as follows. Please see the attached picture.

The program is working; but , I may have something wrong. When I run Genesis I get the following results.

             Running                                     Getting

Genesis Chapter 1                             Genesis Chapter 1

Genesis Chapter 2                            Genesis Chapter 1

Genesis Chapter 3                            Genesis Chapter 2

Genesis Chapter 4                            Genesis Chapter 3

The same thing happens when I run Matthew Chapter 1 or any other Bible Book.

Do you have any thoughts on what may be occurring? Or solution?

#38717 Audio Bible for e-Sword

Posted by mossua11 on 04 September 2020 - 09:07 AM in e-Sword Modules / Resources

I downloaded the Audio Bible for e-Sword. It works;but, in the New Testament, it does not play the chapter selected. It play all chapters tested so far in the Old Testament section.

If I select John chapter 15, it plays John chapter 12. I downloaded another KJV bible file and now it plays John chapter 14 when I select John chapter 15. Do you have any thoughts on what is happening?

#37336 Dictionaries - KJVwordlist

Posted by mossua11 on 08 February 2020 - 10:09 AM in New e-Sword Downloads

File Name: KJVwordlist

File Submitter: mossua11

e-Sword Version: 9.x - 10.x

e-Sword Bible Concordance

BibleSupport.com member RevSteve Posted some information on December 17, 2019 that could be used to make a Bible Concordance.

He Posted the following:
I have generated a file of KJV words, listed in alphabetical order, along with their frequencies.
I also included bible references for those
words from 30 frequencies down to 1 frequency.

I decided on the 30
frequency because I felt like it would be too "busy" to include over that amount.
Still though, that is over 10817 of the total 12872
words...that includes hyphenated and the possessive ' words.
If this is acceptable, it can be run through tooltip.
(just open it in tooltip, 1st, and click on "scripture" at top and then click "tooltip" (wait for it to finish, will take a good bit of time) and then click on "modules" and then look down the
list and hover on "dictionary" then click "save dictionary file", assign it a name.

He also gave this KJV work frequency list file in a .rtf format.

KJV word frq list.rtf 1.74MB

This excellent information was used and a KJV Bible Concordance was made using e-Sword ToolTip.

The name of the e-Sword screen tab is “KJVwordlist”.

The file made with e-Sword Tooltip is KJV_Words.dctx and is 26.86 mb. Please see the attached e_Sword screen on the working Bible Concordance.

I am deeply appreciated to RevSteve for the excellent work he provided. It is a forward step in making a e-Sword KJV Bible Concordance.

I can't state it is 100% accurate but it would be a very useful to for looking up KJV words.
(There may be a very few inconsistencies and I don't want to maintain this in any way)

If someone else wants to repost it as a module, that is fine with me.

RevSteve,

Thank you very much for the information database. I used the information and using e-Sword Tooltip made an e-Sword Dictionary module. The module has been submitted for approval. The module is named KJV_Words.dctx with a screen tab of KJVwordlist. I put as the author the following: "RevSteve -- Database / mossua11 -- Tooltipped and made e-Sword module". This is a excellent step in a forward direction toward a full KJV Bible Concordance. I am already using it. For words with a frequency of 33 or more, I will go to my e-Sword bible Search function.

#37098 How Can We Add The New Strongs Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible to eSword

Posted by mossua11 on 17 December 2019 - 12:54 AM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

I want to thank each one of you for the information on the Concordance and revising the font to a smaller size.

Based on what I know now, there may be copyright or public domain issues. I will not get in trouble with God by violating the Law; I will obey God in all things.  What will be  needful is having a data base that has all the words that are in the KJV Bible with the variations of how the word is spelled in the bible. After the word is listed then the scriptures in the bible where the word appears is listed. An example would be as follows:

Stoop

Job 9:13     the proud helpers do s under him      7817

Prov 12:25 in the heart on man maketh it s           7812

Isa 46:2      They s, they bow down together         7164

Mark 1:7     shoes I  am not worthy to s down       2955

In a Concordance, normally next to the scripture reference, a short portion of the actual scripture is written so you can see what the scripture reference is.  A letter is used to represent the word being looked at -- for stoop, the letter s is used. Then a number representing the Strong's number in Hebrew or Greek is given such as 7812 from the reference for Job 9:13.

A  word Bible Concordance with scripture references only is needed. We do not have to have the scripture  sentence or the Strong's number.  We need two things. We need the word and the references. The reason for this is that e-Sword already provides  an excellent scripture sentence and a Strong's number.

Now if we have all the KJV Bible words in alphabetical order and list the various scriptures under the words

we can  look up what we need to study.  When we have the word and the scripture -- e-Sword Tooltip can be used to  format the scripture so we can hoover over the scripture and see what the bible says.

Stoop

  Job 9:13

  Prov 12:25

  Isa 46:2

  Mark 1:7

What I have been thinking about is how to get a alphabetical word listing of every word in the KJV Bible. We want to use the 1769 KJV edition of the KJV Bible. From the reading I have been doing, I understand that there are some 788, 000 plus words overall in the KJV bible.  Many words are duplicates or variations of an existing word. I also understand that there are some 14,000 actual various word in the KJV bible.  Some words or identifiers like  to, too, a, an and, of, the, I, am, or, and similar items would not be include because they are common usage words.

I believe that a  next step is finding a public domain database or list of all the words in the KJV bible. We can also have an A to Z  alphabet list and when we click on A , all the bible words in A will appear.

There are some thoughts. What are your thoughts? Some one asked the question, how much time do I have to do this. I do not know;but, God knows my time; I trust him and I thank God that if we reason together,it will not take long. Please let know your thoughts.

#37097 How Can We Add The New Strongs Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible to eSword

Posted by mossua11 on 17 December 2019 - 12:53 AM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

In eSword, how can we add The New Strongs Exaustive Concordance of the Bible?

eSword currently has the Strong's numbers associated with the KJV Bible words and other Bible downloads. this is very good.

We need the ability to have a true type Concordance that lists every key word in the  KJV Bible except a, an, and, to, I, and similar type common items. The Concordance should list every Bible key word by each of it variations and the scriptures where the word appear.

For instance in a Concordance when looking up the word stoop, it appears as follows.

1. Stoop

    Job 9:13

    Prov 12:25

    Isa 46:2

    Mark 1:7

2. Stooped

    Gen 49:9

    1 Sam 24:8

    1 Sam 24:18

    2 Chron 32:3

    John 8:6

    John 8:8

    John 20:11

3. Stoopeth

     Isa 46:1

4. Stooping

     Luke 24:17

     John 20:5

The Concordance lists all the words in alphabetical order. When you do not know how to spell  the word or its different variations being used you are in trouble looking it up. In a Concordance with all the words listed, you can physically search each word and see what is what. eSword does have a very good search function; but, you must know how to spell the word. The search function shows one word at a time.

#37071 How to Add 4 Separate Selectable eSword Startup Main Screen Pages

Posted by mossua11 on 13 December 2019 - 11:04 PM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

Can the ability to add separate eSword startup main screens pages be included in eSword?

There are times in eSword when you may need to revise your main screen start up page to view different Bibles, Commentaries, and Dictionaries.

For Instance,

1.Having too many of each item adds too many items to a page size and slows down the page response time to selecting items.

2. Doing a study of certain items needs only the designated items on a page at a time and increases the  screen usage space.

3. You can remove items not needed on your main screen and add them back  later using the progam resources area. This  takes too much time when you need to change your study areas often.

It is proposed that in addition to the existing main startup page that 4 additional main startup pages be added that can have separate Bibles, Commentaries, and Dictionaries. Each new page would be selected from a designated selection list and be  saved with its own startup information. Pages can be designated ew1s, ew2s, ew3s, and ew4s or something similar.

Thus when you want the startup page with 20 Bibles, 35 Commentaries, and 20 Dictionaries on it, you can select it. Or when you want the page with  8 Bibles, 10 Commentaries, and 7 Dictionaries you can select it. Or when you want the page with the Hebrew - Greek information items, you can select it.

Each new main startup page would be completely independent from the other start up pages.

How can we get this in eSword? What time frame would this take? This can also be a premium item that we pay for as an add on.

Are there any thoughts on this or similar?

#36727 Cannot Change the eSword Screen Background Color

Posted by mossua11 on 26 September 2019 - 06:45 AM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

eSword ver 12.0.1 introduced a revised method of eSword screen page background colors. There are now three options. They are low light, daylight, and lamp light. Low light gives a screen with a black background and white letters. Day light gives a screen with a white background and black letters. Lamp light gives a screen with a light yellow background and black letters.

I have vision problems and cannot see these backgrounds too good. In eSword ver 11.2.2 there was an option to change the screen background colors to many different colors. I used a green type color that enabled me to read the eSword screen for a long time. Also with ver 11.2.2 there was the ability to go to the Windows 10 Personification area and use the colors available on Windows. With ver 12.0.1 this cannot be done.

Does anyone have a fix or go around to get the old type colors back or how to change the colors in ver 12.0.1?  Ver 12.0.1 does seem to be faster in operation than ver 11.2.2.

I would appreciate any help or assistance that you maybe able to provide.

In the mean time, I have reloaded eSword   ver 11.2.2.
