Overview
The College Press Bible Study Textbook Series (The Old Green Commentaries) includes 59 books and over 30,000 pages of valuable insight. This library includes outlines, introductions, essays, paraphrases, surveys, maps, illustrations and questions to engage the reader.

Written between the 1960’s and 1980’s, this classic study series is respected throughout Christianity. For many Christians, a few volumes from this set was their first Bible commentary.

This set is a textbook rather than a traditional commentary. The difference is the amount of time required to read an entry, the presentation of material, and the amount of material. This set is not intended to be a quick reference.

I did notice an error when clicking on "Selected Studies" of "New Testament History" of Wartick & Wallace. It gives an error message and does not open. Do you get the same?

Hi Brothers,

Would you like to show me how to add this to e-sword on ipad? I have downloaded the module for iOS but I don't know how to add it. Thanks

To add the College Press e-Sword HD/LT version module for iOS. Open up iTunes and select your iOS device in the top right hand corner. After that select the Apps section at the top after the Info section. Scroll down until you see the File Sharing box on the left. Select your e-Sword app and on the right you'll see a bunch of files inside e-Sword. There should be a add file at the bottom. Select add file and select the College Press e-Sword HD/LT module and iTunes will do it's magic after that. Also make sure the e-Sword app is close on the iOS device. (If you don't see your iOS device in the top right hand corner, make sure you have your device plugged into your computer or have the sync this device via. wifi enable / cord free option.)

Hi

Thanks for all the hard work on this title. I would like to have a Mysword version for Android.

Beware the THEOLOGICAL BIAS of the College Press commentaries: College Press, Don DeWelt and Ozark Christian College are not fundamental or evangelical in doctrine. As part of the Restoration Movement (Campbellism), the Churches of Christ teach formulaic baptismal regeneration (salvation by works) and some reject instrumental worship. More info at: http://www.gotquesti...eneration.html

I would agree that a small portion of the material is works based salvation. It's sad that so many of our brothers are enslaved to this bondage and legalism. However, there's also a lot of great material in this set, notwithstanding the sometimes biased teachings.

I had a few laughs at the logical inconsistencies--the logic used in one argument is contradicted in another argument on a different issue because someone was beholden to a denomination. You can tell from the arguments (sometimes) that the person was reasoning backwards. (i.e.: I went to this seminary, I earn a pay check from this institution, I have to say xyz or I'm fired.) So, they layout there reasoning for the argument and you can tell they started at the conclusion and worked backwards because of their denomination requirements. It happens, it's unfortunate, and I do believe that's the reason this set isn't downloaded nearly as much as other sets.

But, I do think there is great material in this set.

This is an awesome set. Its uniqueness is the thought questions, which can be used as a teaching aid. I have a few of the hard cover books, but they are hard to get in Australia, where I live, so I was thrilled to see it here. Matthew is particularly good, though DeWelt's stuff not so much. As for doctrinal bias, fundamental and evangelical are both biases too. In regard to 'works based salvation' read John 6:29 and 30 (and James 2:24). Faith is a work, whereas someone else performs the baptism on you, which it could be therefore argued, is less of a work. Acts 22:16, Acts 2:38, 1 Peter 3:21, Mark 16:16, Galatians 3:27 are just some of the verses that indicate baptism saves. Anyhow, this set is a masterpiece and a big thanks for effort taken to prepare it!

Beware the THEOLOGICAL BIAS of the College Press commentaries:

what theological work does not has theological bias?????  Furthermore, one should not make a general statements on works of multiple authors.  Of course which biblelight did.  I proofed thru some of the vols. in this work.i FIND NO SUPPORT for baptismal regeneration (salvation by works).  BTW baptismal regeneration = not (salvation by works). baptismal regeneration, the way I understand it claims the water regenerates the person.  This is closer infant baptism.  You ought to study the concept of Baptism in the NT and the word itself.  As I once skeptic of the restoration movements' position baptism, I did.  I await your blog, biblelight, on careful study of the these authors to support your legalistic charges.  start reading my friend.

Hello, first I want to thank you for this module and for preparing such a wonder way in which to interact with God's word. There are however some errors that I noted to be significant, and can be confusing if read by someone who was discovering the Bible for the first time. Ezekiel 38-39 has many instances where Gog is actually misspelled to God, which makes some confusing meanings. Just letting you know. God bless.

I just purchased the Max version of E-sword. Will this file be available for us mac users soon?
