I've been wanting a Moffatt translation for a while now... It's great at conveying the emotion and intent. THANKS for making it available!!!

Was hoping that the Moffatt OT would have been developed by now for download. Any plans for that?

get the context of what the KJV says for deeper understanding.

Good for grasping Pauls letters a bit better. Not perfect, but a good help. Coupled with Strong's and Bullinger's notes, this is good.

Bible Support provides two downloadable module options. Submitted by 2guntom, Jun 15, 2011, and updated Dec 19, 2021, with an upload to cater for e-Sword for the Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Android, and also for e-Sword for the PC running versions 11, 12, 13.

The Bible Tab is “Moffat NT” James Moffatt - New Testament.  Because the files are loaded in filename order, you will find the entry between the I and J on the list of Bibles. There is a problem to display certain characters. For example, the long dash in 1 John 5:16, and the last verse of the chapter, 1 John 5:21 is blank.

1Jn 5:16  If anyone notices his brother committing a sin which is not deadly, he will ask and obtain life for him — for anyone who does not commit a deadly sin. There is such a thing as deadly sin; I do not mean he is to pray for that.

However, if you view the Bible chapter in the Parallel option, the characters are okay, and verse 21 appears okay.

The Solution, is to load the *.bbli file, instead of the *.bblx file for e-Sword for the PC, (if you are running e-Sword versions 11, 12, or 13), which displays the characters okay. The *.bbli module option provides for all current versions of e-Sword. A list of the current version of e-Sword is seen here.
