A Windows PC tool for making e-Sword modules.

Tooltip Tool documentation: e-Sword ToolTip Tool NT

NOTE when building a .bblx file.
What you need to do on the last line of text is put an enter for a new line, then put a space on the next blank line and enter for a new line. So it would look like
Rev 22:21 text goes here then [press enter key]

[space here][press enter key]

If you don't do this then the last line in your Bible will be missing. There isn't a problem with .bbli files.

Showing where, in e-Sword or TTTNT? Do you have sample files?

Hi

I did not find how to attach files to the topic.

I create a folder in my google drive with the files

https://drive.google...fKm2U8MtzYDqDzQ

There are 4 files

- Mac Arthur jpg, this module was created with an older version of tooltip and bible references with accent work fine like: Génesis

- Mundo Hispano jpg, this module was created with 0405 and the bible reference with accent does not work. You will see that bible reference has a "_ " separating the book from the verse

- Mateo.cmti

- Mateo.rtf

Hope you can find the issue.

Thanks

OK - I see what is happening and there are 2 issues: 1) Spanish was never fully supported in T4 as it was in T3, though I may be able to rectify that fairly easily. T3 supported Spanish in the program's menu structure, T4 never has and I don't plan to add it at this time. But further, tooltipping needs a little work, but 2) tooltipping Spanish for HTML based modules was never implemented. The marking up of scripture references in HTML is done when the module is created. T4 understand "Gén" but in HTML it looks like this: "Gén" which T4 does not understand (yet). Not a huge problem, it will not be hard to add BUT - will e-Sword recognize the characters using the fix I has created, that remains to be tested.

I have the basic fixed already done, I just need to implement them in to all the various places in code that they need to be added, and then testing needs to be done.

For Braiden79 - I have made many modifications to T4 and I am still testing that I have not broken anything. I have tooltipped your sample file and created both CMTX and CMTI files, internally they are the same, HTML based modules. My observations:

1) in e-Sword for the PC, with the language set to Spanish, tooltips work. With the language set to English, the Spanish specific references will not work. English tooltips work with the language set to iether English or Spanish.

2) Spanish tooltips do not work on my iPhone if they are using the Spanish abbreviations. Gén_1:1-2 does not work on the iPhone, it does on the PC with the language set to Spanish.

I have not posted an update to T4 yet, probably tomorrow. Here are the sample files:

Hi BH

Yes, always the english tooltip work, spanish or english language. I don't know if eliminating the accent in the spanish tooltip can resolve the issue.

I think there are only 4 books with an accent in one of the first 3 letters. (Gén, Éxo, Núm, Gál). I don't know if e-sword can recognize those books without accent in the tooltip.

regards

There is a 5th book, Amos: Amó

That said, I have found a few more bugs which I will attempt to resolve. And, if that does not work, I have another idea to try.

As you see, there is no written spec on that e-Sword module files.

note - my internet access will be parse for a few days.

Hi BH, thans for the update. Spanish Bible books with accent are working with tooltip now in my ipad. Yeah But now strong numbers are not working.

Can you upload a sample file here? https://my.pcloud.co...o9bHPMG1Lgty6Wy

Thanks, didn't have time to give it a good look over but wanted to alert folks (Windows 10) that Zemana anti-malware hates this program. If you're ambitious enough to tackle an e-sword module, you can get by Zemana's fear. Click the "settings" gear to go to the "real time protection". Clicking real time protection check for "action" = quarantine. Click the tooltip program that is quarantined, then click "restore" in the top left corner. This will restore the program, but you are not finished. Click exclusions on the left side menu, it will open a window where you can select "exlude". Clicking on exclued opens a file management program... navigate to the tooltip program and exclude it. Everyone and everything will light up with anxieties and warnings you are going to be dipped in boiling oil, but it won't happen. I trusted B.H. and did not die, nor did my computer. As to why and how to fix it so anti-malware likes it, that is beyond me.

Odd, 40 years I've avoided working with databases, now I'm once again facing SQL. Well, I suppose it is time, I have the tools. I'm revising Ever Increasing Faith by Smith Wigglesworth (Public Domain edition) from PDF to epub

adding links to internal "epub" file scriptures, adding an index and other things. I'll use the epub html files to test out the tooltip program and if all goes well I'll upload the result. Thanks for the hard work on the program.
