I have had the same problem and found by changing the default font in the options pull-down helps.

I do not if it is my copy of CUV-S that is having problem.
In Numbers 15:39 I noticed that there is a missing character on the 6th position.
你们佩带这 子，好叫你们看见就记念遵行耶和华一切的命令，不随从自己的心意、眼目行邪淫，像你们素常一样；
I check the CUV-T version, the character is there at te 6th position.
