About Christ in All the Scriptures
This unique book serves as an introduction to Christology, an OT and NT survey book, a reminder that Christ is the purpose behind each book of the Bible, and a refutation of any claims that Jesus is not God. The book also has devotional qualities. Hodgkins also includes a dozen text tables to illustrate her teaching and draw comparisons.

Although the book was written in multiple editions into the early 1900s, the text reads very easily. I suspect this is because the author was a woman who was not trying to sound "formal" or "educated" the way or male peers were. Her male peers from this era sometimes use awkward or dated wording by today's English standards. I much prefer her style of writing and I think you will too.

Other Reviews (Amazon.com):
I don’t know where I found this old book but it has proven to be an absolute gem over the years. Hodgkin traces the types of our blessed Savior Christ throughout the entire Bible from the rich foreshadowing in the offering of Isaac to the 26 uses of the word “Lamb” in the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ. You will be encouraged to see your wonderful, merciful Savior in new ways in Christ in all the Scriptures by Hodgkin. --Paul/Jennifer Dare

I have a third edition, 1909 version handed down to me from my grandparents, an I can use it in my preaching today! It remains fresh after 100 years! It points out the Christlikeness of bible characters like Boaz, Joseph and others. It also covers similarities between old practices as Jesus' life. --David Hooper

I couldn't agree more with the other reviewer(s). This is a truly timeless text. Not laborious but concise and heart-penetrating. Full of wonderful illustration, quotations and cross references, but also reads like an encouraging devotional! -- Paul Dare

  • Uploaded Mac/e-sword 11 version.

A very good resource for the new Bible student as well as those more seasoned. New to Bible study? You'll be in awe at the revelations here! Been studying for years? There are gems for you also. Portions of it may be a refresher course for some, but all will receive blessings from this work. It is certainly inspired by God. I once spent over a year in Sunday school teaching on Jesus in Genesis. I wish I had this book then. The class could have taken much longer! 2Cor517

For some reason these resources were installed but the e-Sword app does not find them.

Any idea ?

As updated Jan 20, 2022 the download files options are:
(1) Hodgkin, Alice M - Christ in All the Scriptures.exe
(2) Hodgkin, Alice M - Christ in All the Scriptures.topx
(3) hodgkin_alice_m_-_christ_in_all_the_scriptures.refi
Hodgkin, Alice M - Christ in All the Scriptures 1.0 - Reference Book and Topic options. You only need to download the specific option you want to use.

The *.refi option will provide you with better quality output as it provides for the July 2016 edition of e-Sword version 11.0 for Windows, which includes provision for HTML-based resources. This will work on the latest e-Sword version for Windows, which at present is version 13.0.0 from https://www.e-sword.net/.

The *.refi module is also suitable to work on the Mac, iPad, iPhone, and Android versions of e-Sword. After you have downloaded the *.refi file, then you need to copy the files to the required folder in your Mac/iPhone/iPad device from which e-Sword for your particular device will be able to process the file. For details access the developer's website https://www.e-sword.net select the LINKS option, select the type of e-Sword you are using, and follow that link, then select the associated FAQ option, and read the installation details. The details should enable you to procede as intended.

For e-Sword on the Windows PC or laptop:
open e-Sword and select "Options > Resource Settings.. > Resource Options > Reference Books" and make a note of the two windows at the bottom of the option, for "Resources Location", and "User Files Location".
You can use any of the download options.
The *.exe module provides a wizard to help you to install a copy of the *.topx module file, which is included inside that .exe file, to the relevant drive and path.  How do you want to view the file?
If you want to view the module from the Topic Editor option, install the file into the path that was indicated in the "User Files Location".
If you want to view the Module through the Reference Library option, install the file into the path that was indicated in the "Resources Location" drive, and path. Check that your spelling of the path is correct and that you do not have ...\e-Sword\e-Sword duplicated in the path name. The file will be listed in "Options > Resource Settings.. > Resource Options > Reference Books"

For e-Sword on the Windows PC or laptop:
The *.topx file is another option, whereby you can copy this downloaded file to the same target path, as was provided by the *.exe wizard. The e-Sword Module Installer from biblesupport.com can assist in this. That would need to be downloaded, then run to install it, then run to update the registry details in your windows PC or laptop. Thereafter, when you select a downloaded e-Sword type module, when you click theat module, the e-Sword Module Installer will be activated by the file type (the last four letters of the filename), and help you to copy the downloaded e-Sword module to the required directory folder.

For e-Sword on the Windows PC or laptop:
The *.refi file must be copied to the directory folder that was indicated in the "Resources Location" drive, and path. Because e-Sword loads files in alphabetic order, the *.refi file will be loadedinto e-Sword, when you restart e-Sword, instead of the *.topx file, in the same folder.

Preferably only download the module you want to use on your PC. Restart e-Sword to see the file in the appropriate window option in e-Sword. The Reference Book will be listed in the "Options > Resource Settings.. > Resource Options > Reference Books" list of entries, in alphabet name order of the filename. View the Module through the Reference Library window.

For e-Sword X for the Mac, e-Sword LT for the iPhone, e-Sword HD for the iPad, you want to download the *.refi file module. Access the developer's website, https://www.e-sword.net/ select LINKS, select your type of e-Sword, then select FAQ and follow instructions for installation and use of the software.

For e-Sword for Android you want to download and to install the *.refi module. You will find useful information about the Import Feature/Function, for your Android device, on the following Forum page:
See:  http: //www.biblesupport.com/topic/11746-e-sword-for-android-import-featurefunction/
LINK: http://www.biblesupp...eaturefunction/ Follow the instructions, and download and install the *.refi module.
