What's New in Version 1.0 (See full changelog)

  • Uploaded Mac/e-sword 11 version.

I noticed a problem with the Brenton' translation of the LXX. Both on my iPhone and mac Jeremias 32 starts with verse 15. Is there a way to download the complete chapter?

I just realize my hardcopy is also missing verses one through 14. I guess that’s just the way it is.

It appears both of these issues have been resolved. I checked both on PC and iPhone and Jer 32 starts with verse 1

as updated 2021-12-19 this option presents two download file options:
[1] Brenton English Septuagint 1851.bblx 8.53 MB
[2] brenton_english_septuagint_1851.bbli 8.28 MB

The "exe" self-installing wizard has been removed. You need to copy the downloaded file to the required e-Sword folder. Be patient, the download will take some time to complete. The file is large. If the download times out, pause the download, wait some seconds, then resume the download.

Option [1] is designed to be downloaded for use by e-Sword for Windows PC using e-Sword version 9x and later. The Tab Name is "Brenton".
Brenton's English Septuagint (1851).
The English translation of The Septuagint by Sir Lancelot Charles Lee Brenton was originally published in 1851.
This consists of the Old Testament only.
If the *.bbli option is loaded, into the same folder, where you have either the brenton.bblx version, or Brenton English Septuagint 1851.bblx version, then the *.bblx will be loaded into e-Sword, because the Tab names are the same.

NOTE: The brenton.bblx version is Brenton's English Septuagint
English translation of the Septuagint by Sir Lancelot Charles Lee Brenton
Published in 1851; public domain.

Option [2] The *.bbli file is formatted to be used by all the latest versions of e-Sword.
Brenton's English Septuagint (1851). The Tab Name under the "Bibles" option, is "Brenton".
