About the Author:
Philip Mauro was an attorney who was much involved with the famous "Scopes" trial, He argued many cases before the US Supreme Court. Upon turning to Christ around age 40, Mauro began to turn his writing skills to declaring and defending his belief in God and the Scriptures. He wrote around 40 books, and numerous booklets and articles. Among his most famous works are "Which Version?" (a defense of the King James Greek text), Life in the Word (an apologetic defense of the inspiration of the Scriptures), and "Seventy Weeks and the Great Tribulation," all of which are available in e-Sword format.
About the book:
"The Bible makes a clear distinction between the Kingdom of God, which is unchangeable and eternal, and the kingdom of this present evil age, which is ever-changing and hastening to ultimate destruction. In this book, the author traces human civilization back to its origin in the first rebellion of mankind in the Garden of Eden, showing that its evolutionary development from a few scattered tribes to eventual global consolidation is the work of a supernatural, yet imperfect, genius which has set itself in opposition to the Creator. In this world-system, Satan offers something for everyone - religion, philosophy, politics, entertainment, carnal pleasures - all designed to "blind the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them," and from this world-system, Almighty God has called His people to "come out and be ye separate."
