About The Annotated Bible
Written over a 10 year period, Gaebelein considered the Annotated Bible to be his crowning achievement. Today, bible scholars consider the Annotated Bible a classic and Gaebelein to be one of America's truly great Bible teachers.

This passage by passage commentary features:
  • 9 volumes
  • 3,100+ pages (8 megabytes of text!)
  • Solidly Dispensational
  • Every Book of the Bible
Gaebelein taught the Bible always with an eye towards prophecy. His analysis and exposition were so well-regarded that C.I. Scofield enlisted Gaebelein's help in providing the basis for prophetic material in his Reference Bible. Gaebelein's writings are quoted in many other well-known commentaries such as Harry Ironside's Matthew.

Gaebelein was a careful teacher of prophecy. As World War I unfolded around him, many Christians of the time believe they were experiencing Armageddon. Gaebelein cautioned believers against this view, having an understanding of Israel's place in prophecy that had not yet been fulfilled. His prudence against "date setting" and other reckless prophetic teaching makes his studies in Scripture worthy of attention today. Gaebelein taught that the Bible foretold the return of Israel to their promised land, but died before being able to witness those events take place.

The Annotated Bible commentary takes a stand against higher criticism that seeks to strip the Bible of its prophetic authority and addresses historical and doctrinal issues. The reader will find aid in the passage divisions offered by Gaebelein as well as his book introductions, which address internal and external testimonies of the authorship of the books of the Bible.

---C.I. Scofield said of Gaebelein's commentary:
"Admirable analyses and clear, sane, and spiritual interpretations."

---J. D. Pentecost, Dallas Theological Seminary, said:
They are highly recommended to Bible students for their keen insight into the books, their faithfulness in exposition of the truths of the Word, and the warmth of love for the Lord they reflect.

Thank you brother!

Your labor of love for Christ and His Body has really enhanced the usability of this resource. Blessings to you in Jesus wonderful Name! lg
Great work Cato! I almost never referred to this commentary, but I am sure that I will refer to it often now.
Blessings,
Peter

Yep, and I have to agree.

Cato,
I dunno where you find the time. I reckon your wife has to have the patience of a saint putting up with you by spending hours on your computer and not with her while you were working on this project.

When I looked at the old file against this one you did, I was stunned by the quality of the work you did. It is Radical!

I would say, that now it is really good to have this resource to where one can actually enjoy using it actually be able to read it. So thanks for the heap of sweat you put into it to produce a fine piece of work.

Blessings,

Cato,

Wow! What a difference a little bit of love makes! The craftsmanship of this module is incredible. It is half the size of the old module. Thank you for your hard work to make a module better. I will say that many of the modules that were created in the past were done quickly and with out the benefits of some of the newer features of e-Sword. However, this module is great and hopefully the module makers that come will use this as a benchmark to create better modules.
I thank all of you for your kind words of appreciation and encouragement. However a special thanks goes out to Josh Bond for getting me a very clean copy of the Annotated Bible. Without his help this project would not be possible. So thank you Josh!

This is an excellent commentary to have. Thank you for the good work to all involved. I do have a question/request: Why is the font so small compared to all the other commentaries? Could this be fixed to display at the same size as others in e-Sword? Thanks so much.

Tom Cucuzza

Can I just add my thanks for the work that went in to this. I've been using it for a few years on my desktop computer and just figured out how to add it to my tablet. A wonderful resource.
