About Elisha: A Prophet for Our Time
This work is a devotional commentary for II Kings chapters 2-5, centering on faith and trust in God. Written by F. W. Krummacher in German, the work was translated into English by The Religious Tract Society. No one can appreciate the burden of greatness who has not shouldered the responsibilities of an illustrious predecessor. For Moses, there was a Joshua; for King David, a Solomon. And for the great prophet, EIijah, the deeply spirtiual and devoted pupil and partner, Elisha.


About the Author
Frederick Wilhelm Krummacher was born in Prussia in 1796. He became pastor successively at Frankfurt (1819), Ruhrort (1823), Gemarke, near Barmen in the Wupperthal (1825), and Elberfeld (1834). In 1847 he received an appointment to the Trinity Church in Berlin, and in 1853 he became court chaplain at Potsdam.

He died in Prussia on December 10, 1868. He was a prolific writer and is best known for his book, Elijah the Tishbite.
