Douay-Reims Bible Challoner Revision 1752 - You need e-Sword for the PC, running e-Sword version 8 or earlier to be able to run this module.

The Douay Old Testament was first published by the English College at Douay, A.D. 1609. The Rheims New Testament was first published by the English College at Rheims, A.D. 1582. The whole translation of the Bible was Revised and Diligently Compared with the Latin Vulgate as published by Pope Clement after the Council of Trent, by Bishop Richard Challoner, A.D. 1749-1752

As submitted by LarryG, July 03, 2011, and last updated Jul 03, 2011, there is one download module,

Douay–Rheims Bible Challoner Revision.exe      1.16M

This setup module is a WinRAR self-extracting archive. Notice the instructions:

  • Use Browse button to select the destination folder from the folders tree. It can be also entered manually.
  • If the destination folder does not exist, it will be created automatically before extraction.
  • Press Install button to start extraction.

After I authorized my PC security to allow Douay–Rheims Bible Challoner Revision.exe to write in a protected folder, the file was saved into the e-Sword folder.

I asked Rick Meyers, the developer of e-Sword, about the possibility to convert the bbl to bblx. He replied: “The BBL and other 3-character extension resources which were created using Microsoft DAO and are no longer supported.  I am not sure if Microsoft supports that as they were even pre-Windows 7.” Microsoft DAO, or Microsoft Data Access Objects, is a Microsoft programming language to access and manipulate data stored in both local and remote Access databases. This is no longer supported by Rick Meyers.

The file that is installed is: Douy-Rheims Bible, Challoner Revision.bbl
