Carl Heinrich von Bogatzky (7 September 1690 – 15 June 1774) was one of the most popular and influential devotional writers of the Lutheran Church in Germany. He was a leader in the Pietist movement. Unable to undertake a pastorate because of poor health, he spent his long life in a private pastoral ministry to many noble families and also in institutions. He ministered first largely in his native Silesia, then after 1746 in Halle, where he ministered widely to students and young people. His best known work is a book of daily devotions: Golden Treasury for the Children of God. Through his devotional writings he had great influence because of his warm piety, deep sincerity and simplicity of expression. Along with devotional writing he also wrote poetry and hymns.

This is a 366 day – daily devotional. There are several editions out there which vary in content. This is a 1870 edition. The full title of this book is: A Golden Treasury for the Children of God whose treasure is in Heaven”.

I have attempted to do as little editing as possible so you will find old English spelling throughout this work.
