De Statenvertaling (of Statenbijbel) is de eerste officiële Nederlandstalige bijbelvertaling, die rechtstreeks uit het oorspronkelijke Hebreeuws, Aramees en Grieks werd vertaald. De opdracht voor de vertaling werd in 1618 gegeven op de Synode van Dordrecht.
In de editie van de Statenvertaling die in 1977 verscheen bij het Nederlands Bijbelgenootschap waren een aantal taalkundige verbeteringen aangebracht, waaronder een vermodernisering van de spelling. Deze nieuwe uitgave is tot stand gekomen onder leiding van ds. C.A. Tukker (daarom wordt deze editie van de Statenvertaling ook wel de ‘Tukkervertaling’ genoemd).
