I am interested in getting a copy of the Statement of Faith of the SOTL when Dr Rice was still editor, or the statement he had cooperating members sign each year. I've contacted Robert Sumner, he couldn't find one. I also talked to Joy Rice Martin, and she didn't have one. I haven't seen it in any of my books. I know it's not the same as the current SOTL, because of the KJVO issue. I contacted SOTL as well, they were unable to help. Do you know of anyone who might have a copy of either, or someone I might contact?

I did a Google search and found a book which Google had digitized.

Here is the info on the book.

Title Who is a Fundamentalist? Author Hutson, Curtis Publisher Sword of the Lord Publishers, 1982 ISBN 0873989368, 9780873989367 Length 27 pages

And in that book it quoted what was suppose to be their statement of faith.

I now quote from that book:

"

THE SWORD OF THE LORD, now in its 48th year, has at the top of every front page the following statement of faith:

An Independent Christian Publication, Standing for the Verbal Inspiration of the Bible, the Deity of Christ, His Blood Atonement, Salvation by Faith, New Testament Soul Winning and the Premillennial Return of Christ. Opposes Modernism, Worldliness and Formalism.

"

End quote.

Was this what you were looking for?

P.S.

I searched in the "Books" section of Google and used these search keys (yes, include the quotes)

"sword of the lord" "statement of faith"

The book was the third item listed.

No, Curtis Hutson was the editor after Dr Rice passed away. He was a good man, and a good Soul Winner. Dr Rice had a statement, similar to the one listed on the SOTL website now. There were some differences. The one by Dr rice, said nothing about English versions. Said the Bible was inerrant in the original manuscripts.

Thanks for the response.

This is at the top of every SOTL Newspaper. Always has been sibce the paper started in 1934. It is a statemnt of purpose, but not what I'm looking for. I'm looking for the Statement of Faith, or the statement those who cooperated with SOTL had to sign each year. If it's not 1980, or pre 1980, it's probably the wrong one.

Thanks to everyone who has tried.
