Receiving the Holy Spirit in About 2 Minutes

By cwss, 19 July 2018 · 236 views

Some good accurate info here in my opinion. However a question I will ask is, on the day of Pentecost they had been in one accord for how long? The bible does tell that we have the power to become sons of God so I wonder if that is what you mean with regard to receiving HS in two minutes. Also I wonder what Jesus meant by telling the Pharisees to Clean First the inside of the cup and platter so that the outside may then follow.

Hello weeza1.. your question in regard to Pentecost: The Bible says as recorded in Acts, that when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they (120 ) were all with one accord in one place. one accord (of the same mind). Their minds was on Jesus. When the Holy Ghost (Spirit of Jesus Christ) came and filled the room like a mighty rushing wind, They (120) was filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. (John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:)also; Romans 8:14, Gal 4:6, 1 John 3:1-2
Now to your Question about receiving the Holy Spirit in about 2 minutes: This is just the name of the video because the length of time the person in video took explaining this wonderful truth in about 2 minutes.
Now on what Jesus meant by telling the Pharisees to cleanse first the inside of the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also. (Matthew 23:26)
Outwardly these men looked and appeared righteous unto men, but within full of hypocrisy and iniquity. v.27 Jesus tells them that they are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but within full of dead men's bones, and all uncleanness. Sepulchres= Tomb
They needed to Repent and needed to be baptized for the remission of sins as recorded in luke 7:29 v.30 But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him. (much study here) Sad to say but many professing Christians are in this very same shape today. My friend, I believe with all my heart, Acts 2:38 is the foundation laid by the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone.(ref Eph. 2:18-22)
One must repent and be Baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (the Promise) with evidence of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.
God Bless
