2Ti 2:24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
2Ti 2:25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
Lamsa
2Ti 2:24 A servant of our Lord must not quarrel, but be gentle to all men, apt at teaching and patient,
2Ti 2:25 So that he may discipline gently those who argue against him; and perhaps God will grant them repentance and they will know the truth,
this I will endeavor to do
How many of Us when confronted with an apposing view would find ourselves doing the apposite of these verses
I can not with all honesty say I have not fallen into this but as I wrote above I will endeavor to follow the principles in these verses for dealing with an apposing view
as its reads in 2Tim 2:25 may God change our minds to what the truth is
